It is sometimes worth checking the level of stresses of a CRCP in order to evaluate the use of alternate base types. A program based on elastic layered theory (ELSYM5 or BISAR) can be used for this purpose. Alternatively, dis- crete element (SLAB49) or finite element (ILLISLAB, ISLAB2000, ABAQUS, EverFE) methods can be used.
